UK Social Media Awards: eight&four gets shortlisted in three categories

We’re thrilled to announce three new nominations for eight&four at the UK Social Media Awards: Best Long-Term Strategic Use of Social Media (Genesis), Best Social Influencer Campaign (Genesis), and Best Large Agency.

Best Long-Term Strategic Use of Social Media (Genesis Europe)

We launched Genesis Europe in April ’21 with paid content, influencer partnerships and multiple campaigns across social media. Now in year three since launch, our focus remains on awareness and consideration growth to maintain the momentum, but also on driving lower funnel objectives.

We supported these objectives with content production and campaigns to drive local footfall and increase traffic to the website, while broadening our Genesis Friends influencer program working with key partners on content partnerships.

In the past year, some our highlights included supporting the brand with their inaugural sponsorships of the Scottish Open Golf tournament, and an exhibition at the V&A Museum “Hallyu! The Korean Wave”. We also launched four new studios across Europe, and new EV models (GV60, eGV70 and eG80) and the innovative Face Connect feature of the 2023 GV60.

Best Social Influencer Campaign (Genesis)

To further establish Genesis Europe in the UK, German and Swiss markets, we developed a programme of influencer marketing activations driving engagement with key target audiences.

Throughout 2022, we worked with 170 influencers across 17 activations, with a potential audience reach of 40M across influencer activity. The approach outperformed all other social channels – delivering cost-effectiveness, targeted reach, and quality engagement.

Our three-pronged approach revolved around influencer test drives, partnerships on key brand moments such as the “Hallyu!” exhibition at the V&A museum; and the ‘Genesis Friends’ Ambassadors programme building a network of always-on friends of the brand, activated throughout a period of 6-12 months.

These partnerships delivered a total of 960 content pieces for use across Genesis owned social channels – providing incredible value from a content production point of view.

Best Large Agency

After a challenging Covid 2020, eight&four rebounded to continuously evolve the business in rapidly changing times. Today 120+ people strong, we’re set to hit another record-breaking year.

We’re incredibly proud of listing leading global luxury brands amongst our client base while also taking culture and employee experience very seriously.

Some of our recent achievements include:

·      Exceptional commercial growth YOY since Covid, with 2023 set to be another record-breaking year

·      Great new business wins with Sofology, Watches of Switzerland and RSPCA since Jan ’23 – we continue to impress at pitch stage with a 50% win ratio.

·      Success in staff retention with 92% for the last 12 months (June 22 – May 23).

·      Five nominations in a row in Campaign’s Top 50 Places to Work in marketing.

·      Creating an inclusive culture in our hybrid work environment with regular all-agency events including an off-site training day by guest speakers (Onwards), a team weekend away at Centre Parcs or abroad (Offsite), an annual charity day (Giveback), and monthly team socials.
